  • A second life for your used Nespresso capsules

    •  

      It’s been almost three decades since Nespresso, the pioneer and reference in premium, single-serve coffee, introduced its aluminum capsules and transformed the way people drink their coffee. Aluminum was found to be the best material to preserve the freshness and aroma of coffee, completely protecting it from oxygen, light, and humidity. Aluminum also has the additional benefit of being infinitely recyclable.

       

      Nespresso’s recycling program started 28 years ago in Switzerland and now there are Nespresso recycling initiatives across 53 countries worldwide. Here in the Philippines, Nespresso aims to further its commitment to sustainability, quality, and meaningful coffee experiences. All Nespresso customers are encouraged to be part of the #ICHOOSENESPRESSOIRECYCLE movement by returning their used capsules at any of the collection points or handing them over to the courier when ordering capsules online.

       

      Selected guests from a recent contest were invited to discover the journey of used Nespresso capsules in one of its partner organic farms where the used coffee grounds are donated. Together with Nespresso Philippine’s recycling advocate Marc Nelson, guests enjoyed learning about how Nespresso closes the loop on recycling, as well as earth stewardship through sustainability advocates Melanie Go and Hindy Weber of Holy Carabao Holistic Farms.

  • Nico Bolzico as Nespresso’s barista for a day

    •  

      Coffee lovers who frequent the Nespresso Boutique at Power Plant Mall were delightfully surprised when celebrity Nico Bolzico became Nespresso’s barista for a day last September 8, 2019. He showed off how easy it is to become his own barista with a Nespresso machine as he prepared a variety of coffee recipes for all the guests.

       

      Nico prepared the worldwide classic recipes latte and cappuccino and his very own Bolziccino using Nespresso’s three new coffee capsules called the Barista Creations: Chiaro, Scuro, and Corto. Nico’s signature Bolziccino is a coffee and milk recipe sweetened with maple syrup and topped with a dash of cinnamon.

      DOLCE & SOY

       

       

      Ingredients:

      • 5ml hazelnut syrup
      • 10ml of soy milk
      • Chiaro coffee capsule

       

      Step 1: Pour soy milk into your Aeroccino milk frother and select the “Latte Macchiato” recipe or prepare hot foam with your milk frother

      Step 2: Put hazelnut syrup in the bottom of your cup

      Step 3: Pour the frothed soy milk into the cup and extract an espresso shot (40ml) of Chiaro over it

      SALTED CARAMEL MOCHA

       

       

      Ingredients:

      • Dark salted caramel chocolate bar
      • 100ml of full cream milk
      • Scuro coffee capsule

       

      Step 1: Pour milk into your milk frother and select the “Latte” recipe on the device or prepare hot foam with your milk frother

      Step 2: Put 2 dark salted caramel chocolate squares in the bottom of your cup

      Step 3: Extract an espresso shot (40ml) of Scuro over it

      Step 4: Pour the milk and milk foam into the cup

      CINNABONBON

       

       

      Ingredients:

      • 15ml condensed milk
      • 70ml of full cream milk
      • Cinnamon
      • Corto coffee capsule

       

      Step 1: Pour milk into your milk frother and select the “Cappuccino” recipe or prepare an hot foam with your milk frother

      Step 2: Put the condensed milk in the bottom of your cup

      Step 3: Extract an espresso shot (40ml) of Corto on top

      Step 4: Pour the milk and milk foam into the cup

      Step 5: Put a dash of cinnamon powder over it

      1. Take a photo when you drop off your used capsules at the Nespresso Boutique at Power Plant Mall, Nespresso Pop Up Stores at The Podium, Greenbelt 5, One Bonifacio High Street Mall, or our machine retailers at Rustan’s Makati, Shangri-la, and Alabang.
      2. Post your photo on Instagram and/or Facebook and use the hashtag #ICHOOSENESPRESSOIRECYCLE. Make sure your account is public.
      3. Get a chance to win a Nespresso shirt and join us in a complimentary trip to Holy Carabao Holistic Farm on September 28 to learn about the fundamentals of coffee and the recycling journey of your Nespresso capsule.
